4:10 p.m. — Walk-in to the station reports someone took a bath in her hot tub on Federal Street. Husband noticed there was a lot of suds in it and they found a used bar of soap next to it. Unsure who did this. Would like it on record at this time.

MONTAGUE — Two hundred and sixty-five students and staff members at Turners Falls High School and Great Falls Middle School have signed a petition advocating to keep School Resource Officer Dan Miner, whose position is being eliminated as part of fiscal year 2026 budget cuts.

5:13 p.m. — Caller reports a dog is wandering around in the area of Crescent Street. He went to the house at 3 Crescent St. and saw a dish with food and a tether, but the owners weren’t home. Officer advising the dog was just hanging out at his own property.

2:47 p.m. — Caller reporting her vehicle was just rear-ended on Millers Falls Road. Unknown injuries. Second reporting party calling at 3:17 p.m. to report she witnessed the gray truck fishtail and then do a burnout at Industrial Boulevard prior to the collision. Officer advised. Third reporting party calling to report the same. A citation was issued.

10:33 a.m. — Reporting party requesting a call back from the animal control officer regarding the bird flu. Caller inquiring if it has been reported locally. She states she walks down Migratory Way all the time near Cabot Woods with her dog and she saw two dead geese, and another one on the ice that was suffering. Caller is concerned for the spread of bird flu to other animals as well. Message left for the animal control officer.

10:58 p.m. — Caller states he heard and saw a verbal and physical altercation from his apartment window, looking at two individuals on Avenue A. Officer is out with the individuals in front of Greenfield Savings Bank. They were advised of the complaint and to lower their voices. Individuals advised there was a fight farther down the street as well. Officer advises he checked the area, nothing found. No further action needed.

Turners Falls SRO to leave school district for rest of year amid police staffing shortage

MONTAGUE — Dan Miner, who serves as the school resource officer at Turners Falls High School and Great Falls Middle School, is leaving the school temporarily, along with comfort dog Mack, due to staffing shortages within the Montague Police Department.

3:23 p.m. — Reporting party states a vehicle was driving recklessly, almost causing multiple collisions. Vehicle turned onto the Turners Falls-Gill Bridge heading into Turners Falls, but the reporting party stayed on Route 2. Referred to an officer.

11:10 a.m. — Caller in the area of Newton and Bridge streets reports he was buying a car from someone and the man gave him fake paperwork, then ran off on foot with the money. Reporting party was chasing him and ended up on someone’s property. The property owner then came outside and assaulted him for being on his property. The vehicle he was supposed to purchase is parked on Newton Street. Officer stopped a white pickup truck that was about to leave the scene on Franklin Street and got more of the story from the driver. Male party was advised of his options.
