TURNERS FALLS — Police and firefighters blocked off a portion of the road at the Walgreens plaza on Avenue A Monday evening after an individual called the pharmacy to report a bomb, according to Turners Falls Fire Capt. Michael Currie.

AMHERST — When the final buzzer sounded to signal the end of the UMass men’s basketball team’s regular season, which ended in a 74-51 loss to Loyola Chicago on Saturday afternoon at Mullins Center, the arena’s staff immediately began tearing up the floorboards of Jack Leaman Court to get ready for the Minutemen’s hockey game at 7:30 p.m.

2:47 p.m. — Caller reporting her vehicle was just rear-ended on Millers Falls Road. Unknown injuries. Second reporting party calling at 3:17 p.m. to report she witnessed the gray truck fishtail and then do a burnout at Industrial Boulevard prior to the collision. Officer advised. Third reporting party calling to report the same. A citation was issued.

Buddy Basketball: This new program on Mondays from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m. through April 7 incorporates adaptive techniques into basketball to create an inclusive experience for players of all abilities. Modifications will be made for dribbling, shooting or passing, thus opening doors for participation and skill development and empowering everyone to play the game. AMHERST — UMass men’s basketball head coach Frank Martin confirmed Thursday that senior forward Daniel Rivera would miss the remainder of the regular season with a knee injury. The third-year Minutemen head coach didn’t offer a timetable for Rivera’s return, but did say that he had been playing through an injury for about a month.

TURNERS FALLS — Members of Four Rivers Charter Public School’s Drama Club are putting their set design skills to the test this year by opting to perform an adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic pirate adventure story “Treasure Island.”

She states she walks down Migratory Way all the time near Cabot Woods with her dog and she saw two dead geese, and another one on the ice that was suffering. SOUTH DEERFIELD — An adult was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center with injuries described by Deerfield Police Chief John Paciorek as being “life-threatening at minimum” after being struck by a northbound Amtrak train.
