The first of two regular season games between the Greenfield and Frontier baseball teams took place on Saturday in South Deerfield, with the Green Wave walking away with a 4-0 Suburban League West victory over the Redhawks behind a complete game shutout from Caleb Thomas on the mound.
It was a busy day at Greenfield High School, as Athol, Mahar and Pioneer competed in a track and field meet at GHS. Greenfield, who competed against Mohawk Trail the day before, was just hosting the meet and did not participate.
