Mother Nature postponed the MIAA Division 5 Indoor Track Championships a day, meaning area athletes have an extra 24 hours to prepare for the biggest meet of their season.

The area contingent will test their mettle against the best in the state at the Reggie Lewis Track & Athletic Center in Boston, with the meet, originally set for Sunday, is now slated to begin at 1 p.m. Monday afternoon.

Last year, Mohawk Trail’s Chay Mojallali placed second in the boys high jump while Pioneer’s Louise Flagollet took second in the girls high jump at the D5 championship meet.

There will be locals in the mix to medal on Monday.
