The Six Town Regionalization Planning Board is looking for a name for the proposed combined school districts of Pioneer Valley Regional School and Gill-Montague.

In 2019, this committee was created with the support of each town with nominated representatives to look into the strengths and challenges of combing districts due to the declining enrollment of students in both districts. Six years in, it is clear from all recent Recorder articles about school budgets, shrinking student populations throughout Franklin County, underutilized buildings, co-oping sports teams, etc., that there is plenty of evidence that our work is necessary.

We are reaching out to stakeholders to help us land on a name that would best represent all six towns: Northfield, Bernardston, Leyden, Warwick, Gill and Montague. We are hoping to present two to three options to the regionalization board in the next few weeks. Please submit your ideas to either Deborah Potee, Northfield resident, at poteeda@gmail.com; or Deb Loomer, Montague resident, at daloomer@yahoo.com.
