April 12: Rabies clinic

HEATH — The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will host a rabies clinic from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 12, at the Jacobs Road Municipal Center in Heath.

The office will offer one-year and three-year rabies vaccinations for both cats and dogs. Those seeking three-year vaccinations must bring proof of a previous one-year vaccination.

Dogs must be leashed and cats must come in travel carriers. Vaccinations are $20, to be paid in cash at the clinic.

Songwriting group for seniors begins April 15

SHELBURNE FALLS — Seniors can learn how to draft a tune at a four-week songwriting class at Arms Library.

Beginning April 15, Robin Lane will lead a songwriting workshop for seniors on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to work collaboratively with their fellow seniors to write a song. No experience in songwriting is necessary.

COLRAIN — Volunteers are needed for a monthlong, townwide community cleanup called Spruce It Up Colrain.

Volunteers sought to help with Buckland Public Library cleanup

BUCKLAND — It’s spring cleaning time and the Buckland Public Library is seeking volunteers to help organize shelves and clean up the library.

From 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, the library will be open to volunteers to lend a hand. Pizza will be provided and volunteers are invited to bring a treat for a potluck.
