Wendell man killed in SUV, motorcycle crash

WENDELL — Evan Stoos, a 34-year-old man from Wendell, was killed in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon.
According to Leverett Police Chief Scott Minckler, the Harley-Davidson motorcyclist, later identified as Stoos, and the driver of a Chevrolet Equinox collided near the intersection of Wendell Depot and Farley roads at around 3:30 p.m. The driver of the SUV was a 21-year-old Athol man, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.
The Leverett Police Department, the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section, troopers with the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office and the Wendell Fire Department responded after the crash. Orange Ambulance transported Stoos to Athol Hospital. Minckler had described the motorcyclist as having “serious injuries” on Monday evening.
Laurie Loisel, spokesperson for the DA’s office, said no charges have been filed in this crash as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Loisel said the crash remains under investigation.
