Engage: Deerfield hosting Jan. 30 community conversation on taxes

DEERFIELD — The citizens’ group Engage: Deerfield will host “Taxes: The Math and the Myth,” a community conversation on how taxes are allocated and how town budget decisions are made.

The event will take place at the Deerfield Community Center, 16 Memorial St., at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 30. Folks are asked to RSVP ahead of time by emailing rsvp@engagedeerfield.org. The event is free, although a $5 donation is suggested.

The conversation will be the first of a series of discussions. In February, the town’s municipal campus will serve as the topic, while climate resilience will be March’s topic. For more information, visit engagedeerfield.org.
