SHELBURNE FALLS — Feeling under the weather? A natural healer believes she can find the root of your health issues by tapping into your body’s energy field.
Kristine Jelstrup has been practicing natural healing for more than 20 years and previously owned a clinic in Cambridge. She moved to Shelburne Falls and opened Shelburne Falls Natural Healing at 50 State St. on Dec. 19, 2023, where she uses muscle response testing to determine what the body needs.
“The body is electric so it’s very easy to tap into the electricity and get ‘yes’ and ‘no’ information from the nervous system, and basically finding the root cause of your issue and what your body would like as a solution,” Jelstrup explained. “You can ask the body anything.”
Jelstrup said both her parents were chiropractors who encouraged her to pursue natural healing. Over the course of her career, she has helped clients with digestive problems, skin issues, hormone imbalances and allergies.
“The majority of people that come to me have been to all the doctors to figure out what’s wrong with them. All the blood tests say they’re fine, and so I say, ‘Let’s just ask your body,’” Jelstrup said.
Jelstrup uses homeopathic medicine, whole food nutrition, herbal remedies and energy clearing to get rid of symptoms. The first session costs $235 and includes a roughly hour-long assessment where Jelstrup goes through a series of questions to determine what is happening in the body. Jelstrup said her clients typically require two to five sessions to see results.
She said she understands why some people might be hesitant to believe the capabilities of natural healing methods, but “the proof is in the pudding.”
“I couldn’t be in business for 20 years if it didn’t work,” Jelstrup said. “At the end of the day, I have a very high success rate.”

Jelstrup noted that people in western Massachusetts are more receptive to her practice, and a lot of the people she has met already use natural herbal tinctures and remedies to deal with their health issues. She still meets with some of her clients from Cambridge remotely, but is looking to grow her clientele in the Shelburne Falls region.
“It’s been amazing,” she said. “I’ve been seeing about three clients a week, but I would love to see as many as 30.”
In addition to her work with clients, Jelstrup leads muscle testing workshops, where she teaches natural healing methods and how to read your body’s energy.
“Natural healing is using your body and natural elements in the world to heal you,” Jelstrup said.
