PHOTOS: Artsy and informative

In celebration of Earth Day on Monday, Montague Clean Water Facility Superintendent Chelsey Little and Greenfield artist Mary Chicoine, right, reveal a new informational sign marking the entrance to the bike path on Greenfield Road in Montague. Although Lahri Bond was chosen during a call for artists to design a mural on the side of the wastewater treatment plant a few years ago, Chicoine’s work also stood out. So, Little spearheaded a project to use Chicoine’s artwork on an informational sign about how the wastewater plant functions and the local flora and fauna. With approval from the state Department of Conservation and Recreation and the town of Montague, the new sign was assembled by Hale Custom Signs and revealed on Monday afternoon.
