BERNARDSTON — The Bernardston Kiwanis Club’s second in a series of chicken pot pie fundraisers will be held this weekend, with proceeds benefiting Cub Scouts Pack 3, Greenfield’s local troop.
The dinner will be held at the United Church of Bernardston, 58 Church St., on Saturday, Feb. 22, with meals being served from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cub Scout members will be on hand to assist the Kiwanis Club, while the local Girl Scout troop will also be around selling cookies.
“The kids get all charged up to do the dinner,” said Chris Fontaine, leader of Cub Scouts Pack 3. “They like to interact with people and tell them and explain to them where the money goes and what they do.”
Proceeds will help fund Cub Scout programs for the kids, which will allow them to participate in events for a low cost or for free.
Dinners are $15 for adults and $5 for children, and include chicken pot pie, butternut squash, cranberry sauce, a roll, a drink and a slice of homemade carrot cake. Whole pies will be for sale, too. Takeout options are available and a meal can be reserved by calling Kiwanis Club President Joel Cole at 413-834-5484.
