GREENFIELD — No injuries resulted from a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Hope and Main streets just before 1 p.m. on Friday.
According to Greenfield Police Officer Adam Belville, the driver of a silver Honda CR-V, turning left from Hope Street onto Main Street, struck the back of a black Nissan Altima. While accelerating through the intersection, the Honda driver drove into the closed section of Main Street heading westbound and crashed into a tree just outside the historic Leavitt-Hovey House owned by Greenfield Savings Bank.
Belville said the sole occupant of the Honda was uninjured, though the vehicle sustained front-end damage and the airbags deployed. The two occupants of the Altima were also uninjured, but an American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance was called for evaluations as a precaution, according to Belville.
“No personal injury, just very chaotic,” Belville said.
The driver of the Honda was cited for failure to yield, according to Belville.
Koch’s Automotive towed the Honda while the Nissan was able to drive away. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and Greenfield Fire Department also responded.
