MONTAGUE — Sisters of the Circle, the new trio of singer-songwriters Sarah Pirtle, Hana Zara and Christy Grecsek, will perform at the Montague Common Hall, 34 Main St., on Saturday, May 11.
The monthly open mic session begins at 6:30 p.m. before the trio starts at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6:15, at which time performers can begin signing up for the open mic session. The event is free to attend.
Sisters of the Circle celebrates stories of inspiring people like Juanita Nelson, changing seasons and rising hope.
Zara, from Shelburne Falls, releases her new single this week called “People Against an Empire.”
Grecsek is a frequent soloist in concerts who has been singing all her life but only began writing songs in 2019, when the first one came to her in a dream.
Pirtle’s nine recordings earned her a lifetime achievement award and nine other national awards, including Parents’ Choice Gold.
All types of performers are encouraged to participate in the open mic session — musicians, poets, singers, dancers, storytellers, etc. Time slots are determined at random.
