MONTAGUE — In an effort to redevelop the former Farren Care Center site into a residential “Village Center” neighborhood, officials met virtually with the Selectboard on Monday to continue discussing potential options.
The Selectboard voted unanimously to revisit the matter once the Planning Board forms a working group to further review redevelopment options. The vote followed a presentation from Vanasse Hangen Brustlin (VHB) Land Planning Team Leader Luke Mitchell.
Mitchell outlined three potential plans for the proposed development, each designed for varying levels of housing density. The plans were informed by community input and the results of a demographics study, which he said showed a need for a more affordable and diverse housing stock in Montague.
