So ever since President Donald Trump arrived on the political scene, those of us who support him have been constantly insulted and been called all kinds of names. Evidently we are cultists, fascists, uneducated, neanderthals and, of course, deplorables. The liberal left elites look down at us (about half the country) as not deserving to vote because we don't agree with their "perfect us" platform. But none of that really ever bothered me much until this, our local paper, started providing a platform for these elitists to constantly degrade us with their snobbish know-it-all attitudes. I recently submitted a letter that wasn't published so I am trying to be careful so this one gets in, but as I sit here having just read Daniel Brown's July 2 column [“Two old men and a debate”], I felt I should take exception to his insults stemming from the recent debate. Quote "Facts are meaningless, especially to the MAGA crowd who don't even know what a fact is anymore. They just listen and unquestioningly obey the Master's voice." And of course he goes on to deride Trump and continue the name calling and degrading of him and those of us who support him. To the writer, I would just like to tell you that, as a supporter of the former president I do definitely know some facts, that you and the rest of the elitist snobs should keep your insults and opinions out of our local newspaper.
