As I desperately search for a response to President Donald Trump’s and Elon Musk’s systematic dismantling of our government, I’m casting about for guidance, seeking someone who has a plan, hoping that a fearless politician or public figure will step forward and tell me where and when to demonstrate, which organization will effectively spend my hard-earned donations, and provide a message of hope and determination to empower me to get off the couch and do something … anything.

I really don’t care if following such a leader asks me to align with people focused on immigration, racism, transgender and gay rights, climate change, economic injustice, gender equality, countering U.S. imperialism, or saving baby seals. I’m concerned with all of those issues and I’m willing to march alongside any person who is willing to put their individual issues aside and focus on saving our country. The first person to stand on the Capitol steps and shout out, “Follow me!” will be the person I follow.
