Indoor track: Athol, Frontier, Mohawk Trail, Pioneer compete in late session on Wednesday

The fourth PVIAC indoor track meet of the season took place on Wednesday at Smith College, with Athol, Frontier, Mohawk Trail and Pioneer competing in the late session. 

Here’s how each team fared: 

Athol

The Bears boys fell to Frontier (85-8) and Pope Francis (51-21) while the Athol girls also lost to Frontier (91-3) and Pope Francis (56-11). 

On the girls side, Karleigh Chase took 12th in the shot put (23 feet, eight inches) while Ariana Lopez-Hippler came in 22nd in the 55-meter dash (8.46 seconds). 

On the boys side, Joseph Grant placed fifth in the shot put (34-10), Chouaga Blaise Rodas came in 12th in the 55 (7.28) while Damian Howard took 13th in the 300 (43.56). 

Frontier 

The Frontier girls registered wins over Hampden Charter West (94-0), Pioneer (72-22) and Athol (56-11) while the Redhawk boys also picked up wins over Hampden Charter West (92-0), Athol (85-8) and Pioneer (84-10). 

On the girls side, Nicole Plasse took 10th in the 55 (8.09), sixth in the long jump (13-4) and sixth in the 600 (1:54.56), Josie Fosnot placed fourth in the 300 (47.73), Phoebe Radner came in sixth in the 1,000 (3:47.26), Leah Gump took fifth in the mile (6:06.27) and second in the 2 mile (12:47.25), Hannah Davis took third in the 55 hurdles (9.83), Maia Christensen placed sixth in the high jump (4-4) while Lilly Novak placed second in the shot put (28-10). 

On the boys side, Ben Cachiguango earned second in the 55 hurdles (8.53), third in the 55 (6.88) and third in the 300 (39.33), Aidan Valderrama took second in the high jump (5-10) and fourth in the 600 (1:34.50), Amory Maxey placed third in the 1,000 (2:53.42), Charles Dennis took 10th in the mile (5:14.61), Jack Storm came in seventh in the long jump (17-6) while Julian Adams placed ninth in the shot put (32-2).

The Warriors girls fell to Hampshire (73-21), as did the Mohawk Trail boys (66-25). 

On the girls side, Virginia Krezmien won the mile (5:46.32), placed sixth in the high jump (4-4) and took fifth in the 1,000 (3:30.10), Avery Johnston came in sixth in the shot put (25-3.5) while Cammie Thompson placed 11th in the shot put (23-8.5). 

On the boys side, Chay Mojallali won the high jump (6-0), placed third in the 55 hurdles (8.94) and took eighth in the shot put (33-0). Rex Kuoppala came in 10th in the 2 mile (12:15.92), Tanner Biagini came in 13th in the 55 (7.30) and Peter Healhy took 12th in the 1,000 (3:07.36). 

Pioneer

The Panther boys fell to Frontier (84-10) while the Pioneer girls suffered a 72-22 loss to the Redhawks. 

On the girls side, Louise Flagollet came in third in the high jump (4-8) and ninth in the 55 (8.02), Sahana Heilman placed ninth in the mile (6:40.04), fifth in the long jump (13-7.5) and eighth in the 55 hurdles (10.40) while Emmanuelle Flagollet came in seventh in the 55 hurdles (10.35). 

On the boys side, Griffin de Ruiter placed sixth in the 300 (41.21), Carter Berthiaume came in 14th in the 600 (1:40.15), Ryan Spofford placed 14th in the mile (5:43) and Lex Singh took 14th in the 2 mile (12:55.36).
