Youth basketball: JJ Bones, Turners Falls Suburban League grades 5 and 6 improve to 7-1 on season

It was a perfect weekend for the Turners Falls grades 5 and 6 boys basketball team, as the club defeated Frontier (55-47) on Sunday and Belchertown (43-34) on Saturday to improve to 7-1 overall.

On Sunday against Frontier, JJ Bones led all scorers with 24 points, including three 3-pointers, for Turners. Tyreek Rivera was right behind with 23 points, while Hunter Kelly pulled down 14 rebounds and Tyler Girard keyed a stout defensive effort.

In Saturday’s win over Belchertown, Bones scored a team-high 13 points and Kelly went for a double-double of 12 points and 14 boards. Spencer Towne chipped in with five points and seven rebounds in the victory for the Powertown.
