LEVERETT — A Leverett woman was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center for evaluation after her vehicle flipped at 137 North Leverett Road on Tuesday.
According to Police Chief Scott Minckler, the woman, who was the gray Toyota Camry’s sole occupant, was driving at a “lower speed” when she apparently suffered a medical condition that caused her to veer off the road. The vehicle then collided with a mailbox at the 137 North Leverett Road residence, causing it to roll over.
Emergency responders were dispatched at 12:07 p.m. In addition to police, the Leverett Fire Department responded and assisted the driver out of the vehicle using hydraulic rescue tools.
The woman was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center via an Amherst Fire Department ambulance. Minckler, who noted the woman was “conscious and alert” following the incident, said the injuries were not life-threatening.
According to Minckler, the crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
