Bulletin Board: Country Club of Greenfield wins Region 9 of 2024 Ladies Fall Cup

The Country Club of Greenfield took home the Region 9 Championship in the 2024 Ladies Fall Cup.
Competing in the region against Wahconah Country Club, Orchards Golf Club and Country Club of Pittsfield, CCG tied Orchards (27-27), fell to Country Club of Pittsfield (29-25) and needed a big day against Wahconah Country Club on Thursday.
They did just that. Elaine Goodhind and Susan O’Connor scored 9.5 points, Elizabeth Archer and Nancy Donoghue put up 13.5 points while TC Emerson scored 12.5 points, giving CCG a 35.5-18.5 victory.
The score gave Country Club of Greenfield a three-match total of 87.5 points, which beat out Wahconah Country Club (79), Orchards (79) and Pittsfield (78.5) to win the Region.
■ Ricky Adams sank a hole in one at Country Club of Greenfield on Thursday, doing so on Hole No. 9.
Adams used an 8 iron to card the ace from 155 yards out. The shot was witnessed by Clint McCloud, Alec Meilkle and Steve Jones.
Northfield Golf Club
Jeff Holmes and Rob Schrader shot the low gross of 34, followed by Paul Clark and Bob Wanczyk with a 37 in the Timmons-Messer League at Northfield Golf Club Wednesday.

The Athol middle school boys soccer team beat Frontier, 6-2, on Thursday.
